When you adopt one of our Puppies, you don't just drool & fur....
You get Our Whole Family!
We don't have photos of us, so you just get the puppies.
The First Question is Price, Price and Price! We are always asked what the price of our dogs are. There is a lot to consider when setting a dollar figure on a puppy. And we certainly do not "Make Money" with our puppies. We often lose dollars with each litter. Our puppies start at $1600. And stay with us until they are 10-12 weeks old. This assures us they have passed one of the most critical fear periods that happen about 8-10 weeks old. We have found that introducing them in a new home at 8 weeks can heighten some of their fears that can lead to biting or aggression. We also start leash training and potty training at about 6-8 weeks, so they know some of the basics before they go to their new home. It is amazing how much they "see and do" during those few weeks. when the big dogs help out.
The second question is "If we spay/neuter with the price be less"? No. We do not have you sign a spay/neuter contract, although sometimes we will highly recommend it, we just start with the right foot forward and choose the best possible families to adopt our puppies. We would never ask someone to do something to a family member that we would not do. There are sensible guidelines we follow with our children and the same repect goes for your pets. We also feel that you will seek out qualified sources on whether you should breed your female or stud you male. There are many things to consider before you do either.
Male: Testing on both the male and female for brucellosis, finding a suitable female, finding suitable breeders that know what they are really breeding for.
Female: Testing on both the male and female for brucellosis, finding a suitable male, having enough money for additional vet visits thay may not be planned. To include: Relaxin pregnancy test, ultrasound, x-rays, C-section, post operative care, whelping pen, formula, blankets, pads, and countless items you don't have on hand but always need. And then the heartbreak, (It really happens), that you lose the litter. Or finding homes for 14 puppies, now that is a job in itself. Breeding can be VERY rewarding, but please consider ALL the costs before you make a decision that could ultimately cost the life of your best friend.
The next question is "What shots does your puppy have"? NONE, we do not believe in the whole series of vaccinations. (Rabies is required by law) If you think you want them, there is not much we can do to stop you, but we will give you our reasoning of why we do not give them. You will find more information under the Vet section in the Health and Vet Link in this site. When you follow a holistic health plan we have found that you do not need flea and tick prevention or heartworm prevention as often, and in some cases not at all. We attribute this to the Natural Raw Food diet that we feed our dogs. We also do not have an abundance of black flies that like to populate kennels in the summer and chew their ears raw.
More to come...
