Need a Laundry Soap to wash your dog bedding in?

Or an inexpensive Laundry Soap for your own clothing!

Works especially well in the new High Capacity Washers

What you will need:

  • Two Quart Stainless Steel or Enameled Saucepan  (Visions by Corning works too)
  • One Bar of Octagon Soap, grated (or Fels Naptha, if available)
  • 1 Cup Washing Soda
  • 1 Cup Borax
  • Wooden Spoon
  • 3 Gallon Plastic Bucket (with a pouring spout is best)
  • 1 tsp Essential Oil (lavender, lemon, rose, etc... See Link Below)

Add grated flakes to 1 1/4 quarts water, Slowly stir over low heat until melted.  (Do Not Boil) Turn off Heat, Slowly add Borax and Washing Soda to melted mix, (it may thicken for a moment, then thin back out.)  When completely dissolved, Carefully pour into empty plastic bucket.  Slowly add Hot Water to fill to about 2 1/2 Gallon Mark. Then add essential oil, mix well.

Cool Slowly and pour into empty jugs.  Mix will thicken as it cools, leave room to stir or shake.

You can use immediatley, I use about the same amount as I would regular laundry soap.  It does not suds much.  I add Lemon Grass essential oil for the dogs, and Lavender for our clothes.  This is an inexpensive alternative to those high priced Soaps.

Always mention:  Cypress Run Kennels or #365  Thank you
